strong opening, but fell rather flat halfway through. i was let down by the unsatisfying climax and lack of character arc. would have wished for more emphasis on the widows, too.
the beginning of the movie had me anticipating a deep dive into natasha’s time in the red room, supplemental to the scene in avengers: age of ultron (2014), so i felt disappointed to see them take the safe route instead. it is a marvel movie after all.
