May not be written by an algorithm, but there’s no question that Netflix brass 100% required this drivel to hit certain beats so as to meet their algorithmic needs, and it shows. I feel unclean and impure after watching this.

At times, there were some truly Evil Dead-esque moments of zany horror silliness. Also some legitimately terrifying scares interspersed throughout. I know it was intentional so as to root for his continued constant torment, but maaaaan did I hate the stereotypical YouTuber protagonist. I guess it helped to add some of the comedy element, but for every one of his million GoPros affixed to everything from a Slim Jim to the main antagonist, there’s also extreme cringe self-narration and responses…
