This movie was absolutely not what I anticipated whatsoever. I expected a basic “Cinderella story” as discussed, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The ending scene moved me to tears—her raw emotion as she finally allowed herself to be comforted, rather than being treated as an object and discarded, was incredibly powerful. It was a heartbreaking yet beautiful moment of vulnerability. Overall, I highly recommend this film to anyone who understands the struggle of maintaining a facade for the world while only truly being seen by a select few.
