A solid good Looney Tunes time at the movies. I'm very happy I got to see this in a theater, as opposed to watching it at home. The animation, the performances, the music, were all top notch. I would have liked it to be even weirder because the times it got weird were the best, and so funny.

The two aspects of this movie that gets it to four stars for me are very simple: Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley really moved me. I thought he delivered a beautiful performance. He's an actor I love, playing a character I love and am really invested in. I'm overjoyed Isaiah was used as the heart of the story, and every scene with him was emotional and charming. And secondly: Hulk, but Red. Fun as hell. Need to see it in 3D.

Ke Huy Quan is, and has always been, a bonafide movie star, and he should continue to headline bigger and bigger movies. The script and execution of the rest of the movie didn't live up to what Quan was bringing, but I will support Ke in any project he's in, no question.

I know that when I talk about this movie, and praise the really clever meta-storytelling, or the authentic (and just plain cool) comic book action, or the fun energy and chemistry between these obviously talented lead actors, I'll be looked down on by cynical people who laugh at grown men getting emotional over seeing Hugh Jackman in a yellow Wolverine suit, instead of being curious as to why this character can have that kind of effect on comic book fans.…
