  The cast is amazing, the costuming and set design is amazing and the sound design is amazing.
  The only flaw with this movie is that it skips so many of the events in the book that really impact Astrid’s personality and decisions

  I loved this book when I read it and was so disappointed when I watched the movie. I think a big part of the issue is that they didn’t have the time to build the characters and conflicts like they needed but it definitely had other short comings as well.
  This movie has a really talented cast but almost none of the characters look even close to how they are described

  Violent and gory for shock value. You don’t get to know or care for any of the human characters, partially because most are only introduced so that they can quickly be killed off in imaginative and gross ways
