Mary and Max 2009
Mary and Max is not only one of the best examples of stop-motion animation but also an incredible film that gently critiques today's world of rudeness and bullying, highlighting the beauty and dignity of differences. The tear jerking story of two friends -40 years apart in age and both outside societal norms- is without a doubt one of the strongest contenders for the best animated film I've ever seen.
