Exhuma 2024
A spooky folk horror that pulls back a generational mystery. Divided into 5 parts and following 4 occultist leads the film flies by. It’s creepy through out with some of its most memorable tension (the first ritual) in broad daylight. There are a few plot lines interwoven here with some landing more successfully than others but I get why we explored these second and third lines of narrative.

I know I might be rating this a little high but fuck it. We got silly girl gothiness, fated love (??), needle drops, clam shell lamps, and the Madonna of it all! And how does Cole Sprouse make those little sounds get across so much?
PSA: Don’t go in thinking this is a new Jennifer’s Body!! It’s not. That was wild marketing. Totally different themes and the comparison might hurt your enjoyment of a (admittedly hetero) fun flick.
