An incredible ode to gothic horror. We forget the sensuality of vampires— Interview with the Vampire (1994), even in the hilarity of Leslie Nielsen’s (RIP) Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995). Nosferatu was more art than it was to instill terror, with elements that landed and sustained suspense, silence, fear with near perfection. Sadly, caught the version that cut out those extra 3-4 minutes for censorship reasons in PH theaters.

Mikey Madison won the Oscar for Best Actress in this year’s Academy Awards for Anora. Demi was in that same lineup of nominees for The Substance.
Hot take: It could have gone to Demi. I believe Mikey Madison absolutely killed it in Anora, she deserves it. It’s just that this win is a bit twisted— because it just validates the message of The Substance. So the industry does align….. 👀

A drama packed into a 3-hour epic. It spared no second to evoke and leave you stunned in your seat, whether thru pop of vibrant Osage color or the darker undertones from the novel. Always a treat to see the GOATs tandem De Niro and DiCaprio take it up a notch with villainy. Lily Gladstone tho 🫨
