Ok but the tone-shift throughout the movie is really brilliant. Someone described this director as making very, very dark comedies and I couldn’t agree more. The director is brilliant at directing characters that feel real, and incredibly flawed, writing scenes that are insanely chaotic but really true-to-life. I can’t wait to see more works from this director.

I wanted to dunk my brain in bleach after watching this one. The pacing was SLOW (which I don’t usually mind) but so much of the slow, panning shots and lingering details felt pointless. The movie never gives you a chance to care about the main character; everything just happens TO her throughout the movie. She continues to be traumatized at various points, with little payoff at the end.
I wanted to love this move SO BADLY but the plot…
