If they made Disney Channel Original Movies for 20-year old Redditors, this would be one.
No subtlety, the word “fuck” every other sentence, epic butthole and sex jokes,
They want to copy the parts of Alien that they like. Spacesuits in the final act to shove a monster out of the airlock. Untrustworthy robots. Ending with a captains log. It’s all so shallow and half-baked. This franchise refuses to try something new.

Loved the first film with my whole heart. Shame to say that outside of a few scenes (Fleck learning about what his mother said about him, Joker’s interrogations, etc) that this film didn’t have the same tightness as the first. It’s a film that feels like a victory lap more than a continuation. Phoenix gives it his all, but the story was complete in a wya that this sequel wasn’t able to open back up, unfortunately.

I got home from work and just wanted to lay back and not laugh at all for two hours.
This is a movie that demonstrates “not funny, didn’t laugh” to a T. Screaming. Too much improv. References. Jokes that rely on characters not being logical humans. Dancing. Colors. Stupidity. It has it all.

Ahhh, just when I was worried the MCU was trending back upwards.
I was floored by this series. It hits all of the phase 4 classics!
- The absolute assassination of a beloved character
- an interesting topic that barely has its surface scratched
- a genre piece that doesn’t understand any of the pillars of the genre
- a shlock, incredibly forced ending
This one might be the most pathetic show the MCU has put out in a while.…
