I really dug the first half of this more than what came after, but didn't hate my time with this overall
This might be recency bias, but once the finale of this Oscar special came to a close, I felt this was the greatest live show the On Cinema crew has pulled off yet.
Featuring Tim Heidecker trying his best to be a loving neighbor to the punching bags in his life, but falls into pieces in front of everyone when his self-destructive nature comes back to bite him. Also starring special guest Gregg Turkington, who even on a night dedicated entirely to him cannot feel lasting joy.

The entire time I watched this I felt like I was suffocating watching someone struggle to scream for help, but the body is forcing the mouth shut and pushing away the one hand that's reaching out for you.
Watching this as someone who didn't come to terms with being autistic until my early 20's felt uncomfortably real watching Owen get reprimanded by family members and co-workers for not behaving in a neurotypical way. Even as someone who went through speech…
