Devastating.
This movie obviously pushes your emotions through many 10th story windows, but it also does an incredible job at mirroring the real life experience of trying to be a support for an addict, or anyone that slowly loses parts of themselves.
I wanted to believe Nic every time he claimed to have beat his addictions, but felt a unique sinking gut feeling that films can’t bring out of me very often.

I believe Wes Anderson does everything an all time director should. One thing I don’t acknowledge enough is the quality and perfect timing of the soundtrack, this one was no exception. Starálfur playing during the Jaguar Shark scene was perfect, as well as the constant David Bowie covers sprinkled in throughout the movie.
