i liked this one. of all of anderson’s films, it doesn’t rank at the top (maybe more so in the dead middle), but nonetheless it was very good. like any anderson movie you either love it or hate it - there’s seldom in between. this one felt like he’d fully acknowledged his unique cinematic style, and almost tried pushing it to comical levels of extreme - just to see how much he himself could really get away with. it worked.…
it was…good. a classic guy ritchie film. loved the soundtrack - great variety of older songs i haven’t heard in a long time (10cc, the specials, oasis, etc.). brad pitt absolutely nailed the accent and honestly this will go down as one of his better roles on an already legendary resume. don’t think i’d watch it again, wouldn’t call it a must-watch but definitely is solid. it had a good mix of humor, heartbreak, violence, and adventure. 3.5/5.
