  rewatching in 2024 is weird. Sound design rocks. Way more cameo moments from the original trilogy than I remember. Overall a way more ambitious story & worldbuilding than the sequel trilogy. but man, are the gungans such an offensive way to write an indigenous group, and some of these performances & dialogue are a CHORE

  It Follows--minus any of the fun aesthetics or supportive friends.

  We went for the jump-scare gimmick sold by it's premise. Which *was* effective and fun. It kept our eyes dreadfully glued to the mouth of each character waiting for the "being" to show its grin. Took us along Dr Rose's spiral out of control with an anxious-pacing that sets up some truly startling moments. I'm a bit annoyed that the worst (best) jump-scare was shown in the trailer, but I…

  Gorgeous nature footage unlike anything I've seen. An intimate ride viewed through the lens of two trailblazers; exploring their radical drive for eachother and for the dangerous unknown. Fire of Love is a moving tribute not just to it's subjects, but to the reckless passion to which they threw themselves.
