a very tender and sentimental story about (a search) for kinship, both "traditional" and "non-traditional", one that you can't not empathise with. especially given that it feels like the viewer is invited along for the ride through the frankly stunning camerawork. amazing performances throughout made the entire thing feel so very human and compassionate. it's a queer tale that will feel deeply relatable to a good number of us, and i have so much appreciation for the very sincere, gracious, and realistic portrayal of the trans community.
