  Ik dacht de hele tijd: “Dit voelt heel Nederlands,” en was verbaasd toen de credits volstonden met oer-Hollandse namen. Na wat googelen…blijkbaar zijn dit de new kids mannen, wat mijn verveling verder verklaarde.

  I often try to avoid movies about addiction. I think they can romanticise the joy of using drugs and alcohol a little and overall they tend to be quite cynical about recovery. There is good reason to be; the statistics don’t invite optimism. And while I respect the harshness artists choose to portray, as a recovering addict I’m easily prompted to reply with the same cynicism. Who cares; the world will end; we’re already dead; so might as well enjoy…
