    Always had some kinda vague idea that this film compared favourably to If... insofar as it actually ends up rejecting the nihilistic-fascistic impulse that is the conjoined underside to the stifling oppressive educational systems they set themselves in, and consequently the wider society those educations produce (yes, the end of If... is fascist, unfortunately, formless violence aimed more at the annihilation of the self than the construction of an emancipated system - Malcolm McDowell even repeatedly proclaims that the world…

    Somehow absolute kino. Probably the most ephemeral of the Kerberos trilogy, and that's saying something, this film is really carried by its atmosphere and location. I absolutely loved the first half of the film, even though it mostly just consists of aimless, dialogue-less wandering through early 90's Taiwan, beneath a hazy, dreamlike score. The music that plays over the climax though is perhaps, I think, a bit poorly chosen, and kind of compares for the worse to a similar sequence…
