Chistmas Movie Meditation #3:
I realized the thing that makes this a fantastic Christmas movie, is that it really isn't about Christmas at all. Basically, its the story of some dudes wanting to show their love and honor for a man they deeply respected who is down in the dumps. Shows the importance of people over profit and of laying aside convenience for principle.
Also, if you are going to eavesdrop—at least listen to the whole converation.
Christmas movie philosophical mediation #2:
At the heart, it demonstrates that Christmas is really nothing apart from Christ (gotta love Linus), but at the end of day Charlie Brown still makes me feel slightly depressed—can take it or leave it.
Also, in a Charlie Brown world, just be Snoopy.
Surprisingly good…very Faulkneresque. The ending feels a little sloppy and too easily resolved, but for a low-budget film-festival movie I quite enjoyed it.
