They do the famous(?) Nemesis jumping trough a perfect circle in the floor made with bullet holes gag in this! Real recognize real.

Overproduced post-Matrix goth nonsense. Extremely my shit. I don't remember these kinds of movies being very well respected when they came out but looking back now there's a lot to appreciate. They nail the style. Everything comes together is so perfectly. The cold lighting, even colder color palette and sneering dialogue is a lot of fun. Lots…

For the first 10 minutes all I could see was a guy walking around a big house with a DSLR on a gimbal but after a while everything really clicked with me. This isn't just the gimmick, an interesting filmmaking experiment where a haunted house story is told from the perfectieve of the spirit, it's a complete story of a family falling apart. The way the daughter is validated in her feelings by the perspective, even if a big part of the family thinks she's "losing it" was very powerful for me.

Nothing is sacred here. The only thing this film won't do is let something, anything at all,…

It's like they made it just for me. Beautiful suffocating decrepit old castle cast in eternal shadow, the vampire talks weird and has a mustache, Willem Defoe, day-for-night in the year 2025. Incredible! A daringly early contender for my favorite film of the year.
