Hamlet 1964
The earnestness of this is so endearing. Cinematography is great (though high variance), costume and set design are fantastic. Always appreciate how much effort goes into these Soviet films.
Not the biggest fan of their interpretation. Wish I knew Russian so that I could judge the delivery and the translation, though I got the impression that it was quite humourless and toned down a lot of what I find interesting about Hamlet as a character (especially the self-reflection).
Overall, probably worth a watch.
