  The storyline could have been SO much better developed, especially considering how original of a plot this is. Even so, I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy any of the music. It was dry, it didn’t work well, and this honestly shouldn’t have been a musical. Maybe there’s something I can’t see within it, but it didn’t deserve its Oscars.   Fucking exceptional.

  I couldn’t imagine losing my ability to hear. To live without music, not hear the sounds of people, animals, nature.  Riz did astounding in his role. There are so many well known heartbreaking moments from his performance. And the parts when the audio cut out and everything became muffled. I probably won’t ever experience being deaf, but the way they brought that emotion out of the screen through lack of audio.… I love them for that. Shocked that I’ve put this masterpiece off for so long.

  you always gotta love aaron taylor johnson movies because it’s aaron taylor johnson— but im having mixed feelings. plot wise, it had a great story. good pace. good actors. pretty good cinematography. however!!- whoever was in the writing room needs to stop watching soap dramas because these lines were NOT so amazing. it’s dramatised in such a silly way that you can’t help but crack a laugh at the wrong times. even so, i did enjoy the movie. the very last scene was god sent because wow the Hawaiian rolls on that man 😻😻 and overall, solid 3/5. could’ve been better, but wasn’t necessarily terrible.
