  The Harder They Fall 2021

  Somewhat conflicted on this one. I liked it, but I felt the pacing and and screenplay as a whole were lacking. There were moments where the dialogue was hilarious, but the final arrangement left more to be desired. A lot of character development felt cast aside for the benefit of Tarantino-inspired fanfare. The editing and cinematography were excellent with some really clever match shots and fun stylization, but the ultimate assembly felt somewhat disappointing.

  Punch-Drunk Love 2002

  I haven’t watched a movie in almost three weeks. That might be a record for me. I’ve been consumed by an intense relationship that neither of us wanted to end. But it is. I think? My love of movies took a huge backseat to my own life, despite it being such a central part of our discussions.
  After a particularly emotional day I felt compelled to watch this again. I haven’t seen it in probably 10 years but I knew I needed it. All I can say is that it really hit the spot.
