I’m a sucker for a good mobster movie, and Scarface tickled my fancy without a doubt. Al Pacino does a phenomenal job as Tony Montana as a Cuban “political refugee” in the 80s who gets a shot in America.
I heavily appreciate how easy to digest the theme of greed, lifestyle inflation, and self-destructive nature of Tony was as he got more and more successful.
An action-packed and 80s style movie which is very entertaining and a great lesson that the “world is yours.” It just matters what you do with it.
As a man in finance myself, it was both humorous and entertaining to watch the hustle and bustle of the corporate world and all the worldly things which follow suit.
However, that suit represents the destructive and worldly nature of the seven deadly sins, specifically greed and lust and wrath and pride; all these are personified by Patrick Bateman.
Don’t fall victim to the rat race, or even kill people
Yes. If there was a promise presented to you, one that would give your life purpose, pave a new and clear road of purpose, of course you would say yes. This movie is not about a red or blue pill from the Matrix, it is not a training montage to success, but demonstrates the easy path, cutting corners and the implications that follow suit.
It is fun to entertain the thought of being in the flow state 24/7, clear goals…
A beautiful film discussing the family unit and a sense of belonging in family and consequences when family is broken. James Dean perfectly acts out a teenager time, to help reinforce current relatable themes to the youth today. A must watch for culture, masculinity and manhood, value of family, and a tribute to James Dean’s tragically short career.
