  It's pretty unfortunate that this got memed and shit on because of its name and marketing. I thought it was excellent and mashed up a lot of awesome elements of surrealism, body horror, folk horror, and cosmic horror. It reminded me positively of mother!, Eraserhead, Under the Skin, and The Shining. It's way more experimental and daring than Ex Machina and Annihilation but I think the images are striking as an allegory for abuse and the atmosphere is masterfully menacing…
