Well that was a strange one. Shocked by the hype I have seen online this was dull. I was expecting it to be extremely shocking but I found it to be a bit tame.
And the story was….not good.
Film #3 of 2025
We’ve come along way since that first still image with the crazed looking carousel horse.
John Crowley comeback feature after the disappointment of The Goldfinch is an improvement, if not still lacking the real emotional gut punch needed a film of this genre. There was a lot I enjoyed about the film, but the more it has sat with me the more forgettable it has become.
Both Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are giving us solid…
I’m just glad they didn’t butcher the original.
Shout out to you small child in the audience (I think it was a child) who laughed their head off at the coffee machine joke. Got my biggest laugh as a result lol.
Shot very well by the director and cinematography team.
But when it comes to the actual plot the film left me asking “what was the point of that” and that’s never a good thing.
