A sweet little movie.
There are a few weak spots from supporting actors and the usual suspension of belief for this type of feel-good movie, but it is definitely something you can recommend to your mom.

I remember the protests when they wanted to film this here. The controversy was welcomed prior to release, but nobody expected the chaos that would ensue when a relative unknown cooly spread her legs for the audience. It was a blink of the eye but it made her an instant icon.

I came for Bowie and sexy vampire stuff and now call this a Susan Sarandon movie. It was like a music video at the time so I sucked it up like everyone else. Very basic story and the performances were like in retrospect either quite stiff or melodramatic, but in the end, this movie is memorable for the buttons it was made to push.

My favorite Cronenberg.
My favorite Viggo vehicle.

This is storytelling at it's finest. Great atmosphere.
Truly one of the best fight sequences this side of Bourne.
