A film that hasn’t aged well for my generation. Not the film’s fault, but societies. I just find it a bit hard to watch Winona Ryder leave university, get a job on a tv show straight away and be sad about it because it doesn’t satisfy her exact dream. We don’t have that luxury! The chemistry between Hawke and Ryder didn’t really convince me either. Stiller is good though.

Black Bag 2025
This is an absolute delight and could well be Soderbergh’s best film since Ocean’s Eleven. Moves at a great pace, uses its cast perfectly and works brilliantly as a spy who-dun-it. From the first dinner scene I was HOOKED. Only thing that held it back was the ending. Didn’t quite have enough bite to it to match the rest of the film.

Double Indemnity 1944
Getting up for a 9am screening is so much better when it’s for a film I’ve been dying to see and Double Indemnity surpassed all of my expectations. Another legendary noir from Billy Wilder. The screenplay from him and Raymond Chandler is superb there are so many memorable lines and I loved the whole match motif especially. Wilder probably has the top two classical noirs of all time.
