Parenting seems like it can be challenging. I couldn't get enough of the sounds throughout, and the goop budget must have been sky high. Can't wait to keep working through Lynch's filmography, this was my first one.

Palpable desolation interwoven with splashes of hope that grow exponentially thinner and thinner. The performances are staggering in their vulnerability and brutality. The whole film feels like a rope slipping out of your hands. Incredibly harsh and incredibly hopeful.

Some memorable performances of biblical figures, especially the devil himself. Keanu brings a morose gravitas and combines it with the reluctant hero. Some fun action, but the themes of sacrifice and lone adventurer with nothing to lose vibe are what really make the film enjoyable.

When Evil Lurks 2023
“Because you are the one who is afraid.” Incredible story about confronting evil. Much of the horror comes from the protagonists hatred of women, with this misogyny leading away from success and causing those around him to suffer. The scares are shocking and the violence brutal and unexpected. As the characters experience more and more misery the violence around them grows increasingly unsettling in nature and speed.
