absurd and vile, vivid Dali-esque imagery. Have to watch it painfully twice to understand the hidden message and it’s quite long.

The Brutalist 2024
Aside from the very obvious elephant in the room about its long run time, the film was superbly directed and perhaps the most grim and dirty painting of an immigrant artist desperate to get his work out and the viscous predatory nature of those in power and positions of prejudice. It explores the complicated nature between the artist and patron, and the celebration of wealth through monuments of grandeur and holiness.
