i like the very somber tone of the east asian seedy neon light filled city the cinematography showing it is good but these long shots in the beginning of gosling are padding and honestly the movie doesn't start until the first 30 minutes have ended the story is basic very, there's like half a good action scene , really the only thing carrying this is the Australian guy's club scene and the synthwave track

this is an american equivalent of the Greek tragedy almost everything that's negative about american life mixed in one two great hours everything from dysfunctional families , drug abuse , money lust and sexual deviancy , the fact the whole conflict has an origin from a nuclear family resentments , the fact there is no good example of one and the feeling of bitterness of knowing you brought all on yourself that very human horror of racing against your consequences greatly portrayed by the cast and the fantastic cinematography.
