  This the the movie that I’ve been waiting to see since I read my first book on Hollywood in the 1920’s back when I was a teenager in the mid 1970’s. It did not disappoint.

  It’s like watching Barry Lyndon on crack. A well crafted historical film with wit, fun and just enough bawdiness to keep the story (as well as the viewer’s attention) fresh and engaged.

  I was totally pissed when this film beat Amalie for Best Foreign Language film of 2006. I was totally wrong. This film packed such a punch it left my friend and me breathless to the point that neither of us wanted to go for dinner afterward. I went home and slept underneath the bed for a couple of hours.
