In the Mood for Love 2000
Man, every time I watch this I remember why it’s such a favorite. To be so alone yet surrounded by others is something only Wong kar could depict. Not only is the story a fragment of reality, the colors used in each scene to depict an emotion, the way silence spoke more than words could ever portray and how amazing it was to watch things unravel seamlessly altered the chemistry of my brain. Once more, atypical love, one that has many rules binding it yet no rules at the same time. Beautiful.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2004
A one of a kind movie, the kind you don’t ever get tired of, the characters are unique but the plot makes it all the more worth the watch. Nothing beats rewatching your memories with the one person you’ve really fallen for but to regret ever wanting to erase them shows how loneliness is rooted within some of us and we eternally attempt to escape it with or without being conscious of it. A unique visualization of how a person can come and shift everything and enter the deepest darkest corners where your earliest souvenirs hide.
