Empty Nets 2023
A great first from a filmmaker.
I think of the film as one that touches on political philosophy, psychology, and human emotions.
A carefully written main plot that gives a glimpse of how the personal and the collective transform a human’s psyche. The main actor’s facial expressivity stands out, but a number of side stories remained incomplete and at times felt excessively saturating the flow.

Masculin Féminin 1966
Fragmented, incoherent film which speaks to the French New Wave. Godard seems to be trying to connect philosophical and political ideas yet in a hasty and incoherent way; his politics have always come across as reckless, too explicit for film and underdeveloped. Nevertheless, the film is an interesting glimpse into gender issues in ‘60s France with a number of captivating conversations.
