An Officer and a Gentleman 1982
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
It does seem that this movie (which includes little in the way of gentlemanly conduct) has dated quite badly in some respects.
Yet in my opinion, it remains essential. An acute pulse of humanity runs through this film, as the wonderfully flawed and (largely unlikable) characters stumble toward the harrowing climax … An Officer and a Gentleman still haunts my consciousness.Don’t expect any of this from the proposed remake!
