  Thought about adding this to my favorites on here but I don’t think it quite makes it. At its core it’s a little too patriotic (maybe not quite the right word, but something to that effect) for me, but still too notch.

  I love cinema and I love tennis and I love techno music. Didn’t know who had done the score but I should’ve guessed. Every character moment and conversation has a driving beat, to the point that by the end of the movie it almost begins to feel like a parody of itself.

  It’s kinda wild that only one person gets dinged for racket abuse. There is an incredible amount of racket abuse in this movie. Other than that the tennis…

  Literally me. I’ve spent the few years, like most people I’m sure, trying to reconcile my faith with the grim realities of existence, and my own inescapable complicity as someone close to the top of the demonic capitalist world system. It’s hard to avoid seeing yourself in Reverend Toller. I guess it’s time to finally read Thomas Merton.

  Lots of nuance in the treatment of Christianity here. Cynicism abounds, but even the sleazy mega church pastor isn’t necessarily a phony.…
