The Trial of the Chicago 7 2020
Definitely a different vibe than I was expecting I appreciate how the story unfolds through the movie but can’t help but feel disappointed with where the story ends. some good performances (Cohen, strong,) but unfortunately a bit lacking from the lead of the story and a few loose ends that leaves something to be desired.
Also ending your movie with screen text will always be lazy and off putting to me.
Would definitely recommend but, the Film plays it a little safe for me.

This is truly one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. A nonsensical plot, extremely forgetful music a complete lack of character arcs, truly awful editing ( this movie has TWELVE blackouts ) a complete lack of any sort of aesthetic, and what the hell is this movie even about? There were elements of the movie that I felt could be worth exploring if handled properly but they move right past it like it’s nothing.

An absolutely amazing story with serious weight and fantastic chemistry with the leads. unfortunately the camera work is not for me, and several times made it hard to grasp the story at all. There’s a handful of amazing shots but it wears out it’s welcome pretty quickly. There’s also far too much usage of archival footage, a decent amount of it for the first half works quite well. But it becomes self indulgent and seems to only be there to remind you…
