  Derivative, lacked structure here and there, but an interesting take on a somewhat tired concept with superb acting throughout. It seemed to be missing some impact with the plot moments, but overall delivered a somewhat compelling story with a pretty cool ending, in my opinion. Certainly eclipsed by (some of) its predecessors, yet able to carve out a bit of its own identity.

  This film did not resonate with my middle-class suburban upbringing. BUT I'm rating it 3.5, even after reading the scathing reviews because of one reason: this movie wasn't made for the bougie 23-year-old college film critics that make up Letterboxd.
