Thought it was very entertaining. Extremely similar to how to train your dragon though.
Maybe it was all the hype or because I loved TDK so much, but I guess I was expecting more. Still really good.
Good not great. Laughed a couple times. Interesting concept to explore with NPCs having their own lives, but gave heavy Lego City vibes at the beginning and it was very predictable throughout. Overall enjoyed the movie, dialogue, and the special effects, however nothing stood out to me. Excited to see Joe Keery step further into the movie world; fitting intro movie for him.
Side note: not sure what it is about him but Taika Waititi always makes me smile and laugh even when he’s supposed to be the bad guy.
Fantastic movie that got me feeling all emotions. Great performances by everyone. Saoirse Ronan is amazing and Timothee grows on me in everything he does. Cool juxtaposition of past and present events that kept me wondering what would happen next. Oh and I loved the mix of natural banter between friends/family and the formalities of the 1800s; it was very well written.
