  I loved this book so much I recommended it to everyone and anyone who had the misfortune of asking if I’d read anything good lately. 

  I hated this. Everything about it was the height of pretension. I know I’m a minority in saying this, but the lead actress is insufferable, and every scene felt interminable. Yet another 2-hour movie stretched into 10 by a production team who (a) don’t understand the source material and (b) don’t know how to tell an engaging story. 

  Won’t be recommending this one, I’m afraid.
