  maybe seeing (and hating) Joaquin Phoenix in napoleon made it difficult to actually give this movie a chance but it just didn’t live up to my expectation. it also felt like the movie couldn’t really decide what it wanted to do: look at his career, his personal struggles or his relationship with june. so in the end all parts of it were just a bit flat.
