forced zach to watch this for the first time and i was reminded of how good this film is, only thing is i forgot how quickly the tone kind of calms down for the 3rd quarter of the film and it kinda threw me off lmao
main point is as much as i love zac efron in this film, as i get older i start to prefer james marsden and i think that means my frontal lobe is developing
“my pain is unexceptional so i dont feel the need to burden everybody with it” really enjoyed this, jesse eisenberg slayed with the writing and acting and kieran culkin plays his character so well, a man with too much to feel he can’t fathom other people not needing to feel their emotions out loud, but i did catch myself zoning out at times even though its only 90 minutes long so 3.5 it is
lols at this being the first film i watched in 2024 BUT its actually such a slay guys like the chokehold this film had on me in 2016 should be studied. the drama, the twists and turns, the soundtrack? immaculate. also prime dave franco, tho id forgotten about machine gun kelly entering his acting era? jumpscare
feel good, far better than expected, but in the wonka cinematic universe it doesn’t really align for me, they shouldve made him more weird, ad opposed to almost naïve? hugh grant as the oompa loompa as well as keegan michael-key as the police officer stole the show in my opinion, would happily rewatch for the feel good factor
