kinda rushed ending, but otherwise, it’s a very funny and subtle-as-a-brick (intentional) satire that also happens to be about self-worth and being the better version of you that you deserve. everyone in this is having a great time!

an offbeat little exploration on the randomness of death, how it can come at anytime, but you should live for the moment instead of worrying about that. that review makes it sound twee though, so I should add how demented everyone behaves in this and applaud its similar tone to the 'sick sad world' segments on daria. could have been gorier, though what we got was very fun.
The best of the Gatiss ghost stories, returning the short story’s slightly-more-than-usual grotesque atmosphere. That being said, still nowhere near as unnerving as it could be, especially when you compare it to the other grisly MR James adaptation, Lost Hearts, which has a real sense of malice and horror to it. Would be nice to see what another writer could do with this yearly tradition now…
Also, after the things she’s said the last few years, Frances Barber should not be in this. Her character was barely even relevant either.
