  I know this movie is well regarded but I just really did not like it. It is so deeply bleak and didn’t seem to have much going on for it other than being twisted and depressing. The tragedy hinges on two female characters who are given no personality or agency of their own. It all seemed very unnecessary. Being well made wasn’t enough to make it compelling or even palatable.
