The first half of the movie is really funny and entertaining. Whenever it delves into the interactions between the brothers and Hal and his son, though, it turns into a boring slog that I didn’t really care for. The fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David went on long enough that it started to get pretty funny to me. I’m not sure if that was intentional but it was pretty funny how they were laying into each other and a few scenes later they’re completely recovered and running around. Regardless, the social commentary is very on point for today, which is funny considering the aliens estimated their takeover would be complete in the year 2025. I wonder if there’s something more here… hold on, let me go get my sunglasses!
