Evil can be so normal, so hidden from sight, so easy to block out. Much like an individual who lives next to a train station soon learns to never hear the coming and going, the rattling of tracks and hordes of passengers, one can become accustomed to the screams of anguish and horror, the constant existence of gunfire and smoke and ashes.

Such an interesting play on the genre, shooting and editing much of the relationship between Elvis and Priscilla as a romance movie would, with a meet-cute, scenes of playful love, kissing in front of fireworks, all exactly as Priscilla herself would’ve seen it at the time, and yet there’s stains and grossness for us, the more mature and knowledgeable audience, to witness in the little things.

Apart from the very obvious age gap that the film makes very clear, (Sofia’s…

The director whose dad died of HIV and mum was in one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Centre during September 11 makes a movie about a guy who has to realise that his mother dying of a “one in forty-four million” chance accident has led him to be too scared of the finiteness of life,…

Feels impossible to say something new about a movie that’s been analysed as deeply as this but it is crazy how anti-war, anti-cop, anti-America’s militaristic past this is with the amount of success that it had. Hate to be that guy but we used to have movies that looked like this. These stunts and the action is impeccable! Pacing is out of this world! 90 minutes and manages to end on an unforgettable monologue delivered by an incredible Stallone. What a movie.

There's a scene where Ralph's character is driving at night with sunglasses on, so yeah, you could say he does a good job at depicting a disturbed guy

I guess this isn't released in America yet, which is weird, cause Australia is normally the late one at getting movies.
Anyway, yeah it's trash and completely eye-rolling. It goes from a suburban mother comedy, to a dark comedy, to a murder mystery, and then keeps switching between those three tones, but like, incredibly horribly.
Every time I saw a cop in the film, i just wanted them to fucking shoot me with the guns they had, isn't that a normal thing in the U.S?
