The villain of this movie wasn’t built out at all and has an end credit scene like a goddamn superhero movie? Whats going on? Fights an evil storm cloud? Songs lack compared to the original.
None the less rock kills it again and more love shown to poly culture. But man oh man. This is super meh compared to the original.

Shoutout to a film finally promoting Polynesian culture and lore to the mainstream level.
The goddamn Rock killing it with his song and way he plays this lovably arrogant demi god of Maui. So great to see so much love for Maori and pacific islands in so many lead roles in this. Crazy to think the chicken pf Hei Hei is voiced by Alan Tudyk.

On foggy deep dark night I rode my bicycle to see this lush lore tail of a classic vampire story that is finally relished into a sense of unknown and a form of realism. Plagues, religion, lust, love and world building. A dark gothic piece that has highs like a fever nightmare. But lacks the kick or horror and terror in the final third.
