The Eyes of Tammy Faye 2021
I really enjoyed this one. It didn’t take itself seriously, but didn’t make a mockery of its subjects.
As someone who knows of the evangelical crowd, it was nice to see a film tackle the ugly specifics. It was simple, but effective in telling the story of a woman whose legacy was muddied by a terrible counterpart.
The film wasn’t perfect but there was a lot of good in it.

The trailer is far more exciting than the film.
The acting was good for the most part. I enjoyed Lady Gaga’s performance. However, she may have been the only interesting part. During the whole three hours there is not one point made. Not one strong directorial decision during the whole three hours (besides allowing Jared Leto to be so egregious. And not in an interesting way. In a very embarrassing way).
