  Nickel Boys is another great film told from the first person POV; it rubs shoulders with Presence. While both films are widely different and each employs innovative cinematography techniques to service their individual stories, these two films herald a new age of films told from the first person POV. Characters don’t break the fourth wall, because the camera — you the viewer — are part of the narrative.

  An ode to classic horror. It reignites German expressionism and embraces gothic literature tropes.

  This adaptation of Nosferatu is beautifully executed across the board—script & direction, casting & performance, cinematography, sound design, production design, editing—this film celebrates craftsmanship in almost every department. 

  One hiccup is a superficial albeit subjective one: Orlok’s facial hair. Definitely a choice on the director’s part. It was briefly distracting, but after a while you succumb to the darkness and accept it.
