All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt

    ★★★★

A sensory experience that breathes life into non linear plot structure. All Roads Taste of Salt is the very definition of “poetry in motion”. If love in all its forms can be felt through a screen, it’s felt here.

  • Nickel Boys

    Nickel Boys

    ★★★★

Nickel Boys is another great film told from the first person POV; it rubs shoulders with Presence. While both films are widely different and each employs innovative cinematography techniques to service their individual stories, these two films herald a new age of films told from the first person POV. Characters don’t break the fourth wall, because the camera — you the viewer — are part of the narrative.

Nickel Boys takes you on an emotional journey that is sure to hit…

A wholesome film with an endearing story.

Perhaps we can see June Squibb (Thelma) star in a film adaptation or television series adaptation of Helene Tursten’s “An Elderly Lady Is Up To No Good.”

  • Nosferatu

    Nosferatu

    ★★★★

An ode to classic horror. It reignites German expressionism and embraces gothic literature tropes.

This adaptation of Nosferatu is beautifully executed across the board—script & direction, casting & performance, cinematography, sound design, production design, editing—this film celebrates craftsmanship in almost every department.

One hiccup is a superficial albeit subjective one: Orlok’s facial hair. Definitely a choice on the director’s part. It was briefly distracting, but after a while you succumb to the darkness and accept it.
