What a frightening and inspiring story. Philippe Petit is probably the guy with the biggest balls on earth ! I literally sweat watching him crossing the twin towers on the wire cable. As a person whose terrified of heights it's inconceivable for me to see what he achieved. The talent, the organisation, the determination, the audacity, and the courage.
As for the movie it's well shot by Robert Zemeckis. Specially the scenes in NY are vertiginous and breathtaking. I wonder…

A pinch of realism, a small dose of comedy, and a bit of drama highlighted by some soft music notes and voila.
The movie managed to make us attached to the two main characters played with justesse by Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway. I appreciate the acting performances and the script mostly. Martin Scorsese shows an undeniable talent for storyboarding, filming, and directing actors. The movie shines also for his reconstitution with real decorations of a 19th Century New York. The movie doesn't contain a lot of CGI. Daniel Day Lewis is playing amazingly Bill the butcher. For comparison I thought Leonardo di Caprio was a bit too soft and good looking for this kind of role.
