  good lord this movie is so fucking slow and uninteresting. it’s like watching paint dry. its main character goes through the most unnecessary spiral. and it’s not even a hard film to pick apart and analyze, the idea is very clear but is drained out through the “fake deep” slow scenes of its lobotomized protagonist being the most annoying person to watch.

  but this is a Polanski film at the end of the day so who cares. (kind of ironic)

  every scene is like a painting and gorgeously shot…but i don’t know what the fuck is going on and i honestly wouldn’t pick this film up again. it’s not for me. i understand that this is art. this film is like a painting that moves, like a poem without words. just like when we read a book and have to visualize the text as we read, this film is done the opposite. you watch the film and it makes you wonder what it’s really about, what its body language is trying to convey. in this case though, i don’t have the slightest idea.
